The Book
The book of Acts is part two of the works of Luke the physician! It picks up where the gospel of Luke left off and doesn’t hesitate to get right into action! What an exciting time! When Luke documented the gospel, he was gathering information from others for a record. Luke is right in the middle of the Acts of the Apostles and writing down the history basically as it happened!
Acts of the Apostles? Not all of them!
The book covers the birth of the church and outlines this through two leaders: Peter & Paul. Almost half the book outlines the birth of the church with the exploits of Christ through Peter and then when Paul is converted, the book details the history of the church through his ministry.
Why is Acts so riveting?
. MissionTools.org has this to say about the book of Acts:
The Book of Acts has been called “theology in action, faith lived out in the trenches of real life.” It is filled with action-packed missionary adventures, power struggles, religious persecution, power encounters, political bullying, resurrections of the dead, miraculous healings, visions, earthquakes from God, dramatic preaching and conversions, imprisonments, dramatic prison escapes, beatings, stonings, martyrdom, mob violence, and incredible rescues.

Why Many Skip over the book of Acts
There are sects of people today who say that the miracles of the Bible no longer exist. They say that the power died with the apostles. The book of Acts in its entirety is a document showing the power of the body of Christ and the miracles that come with this life of faith!
Some get stuck in the gospels with Jesus as a God-Man. Some get stuck in the epistles trying to get the doctrine right. But, if you want to see the raw power of the faith, put your nose in this supernatural book and match your faith to the commission that Jesus gave to His body. We were created to shine with His Glory and do mighty exploits through the Power of His Spirit!
